This I Believe: Lessons Learned from Teaching During COVID
Welcome to The Teacher Sanctuary
The Teacher Sanctuary, a virtual retreat center for teachers, nurtures and cultivates teacher growth and development to restore and reconnect teachers to their purpose and to themselves.
This I Believe: Lessons Learned from Teaching During COVID
This writing retreat offers you a creative, safe community to reflect and write about teaching during a pandemic. Teachers of all identities and experience levels are welcome. Over the course of three 90-minute virtual sessions, we will reflect and write our own “This I Believe” pieces inspired by the renowned NPR series “This I Believe”. We will share our writing with one another using key principles from Felicia Rose Chavez’s The Antiracist Writing Workshop. Our writing strategies will not only help you reconnect and reflect on your experience but can also help breathe life back into your writing instruction with your own students.
So grab a hot drink, and let’s reflect and write together.
Three Wednesday evenings
7:00 - 8:30 PM EST
January 12 , January 19 and January 26
The cost of this retreat is $75. You can either pay this directly to The Teacher Sanctuary, or ask your school leader to pay for this professional development experience. Reach out to Ashley Martin (amartin@theteachersanctuary.org) for support in pitching this to your school.
